Abstract

In this note we obtain and discuss formulae for the number of even permutations (of an n-element set) having exactly k fixed points. Moreover, we obtain generating functions for these numbers. We also obtain similar results for the number of odd permutations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
