Abstract

The article presents a study on the impact of chlamydia screening and treatment program of San Francisco jails in California on the decrease in chlamydia positivity among females attending neighborhood medical clinics. It states that jail testing density from year 1997 to 2004 was compared by neighborhood, and chlamydia positivity among females aged 15 to 25 were compared at two clinics serving areas with different jail testing densities. Results showed that of persons offered screening at intake, 89% accepted.
