Abstract

The article presents an analysis of how assisted reproductive technology and trends affect low birthweight in Massachusetts. It asserts that low birthweight (LBW) is an important cause of infant morbidity and mortality. Tables showing the percentage of all births resulting from assisted reproductive technology (ART) and population attributable risk percentage of low birthweight attributed to ART are included.
