Two new looks at transversely isotropic media in the New Year issue of Geophysical Prospecting.

The article focuses on two papers on techniques to account for transverse isotropy in seismic migration and velocity analysis. In one paper, the authors derive slowness surface approximations for quasi-shear wave propagation in transversely isotropic media. In another paper, the authors present a technique for migration velocity analysis and prestack depth migration in tilted transversely isotropic media.
