Abstract
- The article discusses strategies that university presses are adopting to survive a global economic recession in 2009. University presses are being harmed by low sales, a high number of books returned, and the threat of state and university budget cuts. The author details the experiences of several different university presses, explaining that some are having much more trouble in the economy than others. Presses examined include Utah State University Press, University Press of Kansas, and University of Iowa Press.
