Abstract

The author calls on U.S. House Republican leaders to stand up against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and President-elect Barack Obama on the economic stimulus bill and other legislation. He says that the Democrats are confident that Obama will approve their bills as a result of their pent-up anger. He notes that Republicans will have difficulty in reducing taxes under the tax rule of Pelosi. He adds that the selection of Leon Panetta as Central Intelligency Agency (CIA) head without consulting the Congress reflect that the White House controls the former.
