Abstract

The aim of this article is to analyse the presence of 'reformulation markers' in the Spanish Press. As a referential and methodological framework, the typology of discourse markers developed by Portolés and Martín Zorraquino (1999) has been adopted. This type of discourse markers is very common in colloquial Spanish, similar to the drafts of a written text where it is possible to detect evidence of the planning process. Although the conditions in which conversational language is developed are different than those of the written press, scarce attention has been paid to showing the signs of orality in some journalistic types of discourse and to compare them with several examples extracted from the CREA database. This will allow us to prove how the use of reformulation markers can simulate the spontaneity of conversational language. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
