Abstract
- The article cites a study in which researchers evaluated the influence of photoperiod on survival and growth of marine pejerrey larvae. They collected fertilized eggs of pejerreywere at Cassino Beach, whose larvae were distributed in 12 larviculture tanks. The researchers tested four photoperiod regimens 0L:24D, 12L:12D, 18L:6D and 24L:0D for 21 days. A registering process of water salinity, temperature and the number of dead larvae in the morning of every study day was implemented. The researchers found that larval survival was not significantly affected by photoperiod. At the end of the ressearch, the larvae kept in the dark were significantly smaller than those reared in the presence of light.
