Abstract

A case study of a 62-year-old woman with a subcutaneous nodule is presented. This appears within a scar on the left parietal and posterior auricular scalp. She first noted a nodule at that site at age 46 that slowly enlarged over 5 years until she first sought medical attention. A magnetic resonance image of the head and neck with and without contrast showed no bony changes, so the patient and physician decided to follow the area clinically rather than perform further surgery.
