Is green ICT a contradiction?

The article reports on the pressure by the British Government to reduce the levels of carbon emissions created by classroom computer use. The schools' use of ecoDriver software to help monitor energy use is explored. It is suggested that schools should determine the amount of carbon used in making the equipment, student and teacher attitudes towards information and communication technology, and how much energy is consumed by the equipment in use are discussed.
