User-Generated Content: The Case for Mobile Services.

The article discusses the expansion of the mobile Internet via services that employ user-generated content, geospatial functionality, and social networking capability. A team of researchers at the Center for Data-Intensive Systems at Aalborg University have developed a prototype called Streamspin that helps users build websites and supports user-generated mobile services. Topics include: the challenges in creating a mobile service deployment system; the structure of a piece of content; the photo- and video-sharing websites Facebook and YouTube; and subscription platforms and content delivery.
