Abstract
- Abstract: In spite of the long tradition of studies on the Neolithic and the monumental architectures in Brittany, the analysis of the territorial behaviour of human communities for this period remains underexploited. The huge amount of available information concerning the Neolithic and the megaliths, as well as the high heterogeneity of data, make it difficult to generalize the elaboration of synthesis dealing with territorial patterns. Through a quite basic archaeo-geographical analysis of topographical-derived variables this paper proposes a preliminary reading of these patterns for the Lorient region (Southwest Morbihan). The conclusions drawn from this reading lead us to consider similar behaviors at the scale of the Atlantic Façade. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
