Abstract
- The article offers information on the ninth Libraries in the Digital Age (LIDA) conference held in Dubrovnik, Croatia in 2008. "Reference in Digital Environments" and "Education and Training in/for Digital Libraries" were this year's tracks. For the first three days, participants of the conference met at the Inter-University Center, and the last two days at the Hotel Odisej. Tefko Saracevic of Rutgers University and Tatjana Aparac-Jelusic of University of Zadar opened the conference by reviewing the short history of LIDA and the longer history of its topics. Kathleen Kern, Helle Lauridsen, and Caleb Tucker-Raymond all stressed the role of the user in determining digital library services.
