Abstract

The article discusses the number of imported toys from China sold in Great Britain, which could potentially harm the environment. According to the article, between 80% and 90% of the toys in Great Britain are imported from China, increasing the carbon trade footprint and made from plastics that aren't biodegradable or that include phthalates. While safety is the top priority, there are many ways to be more environmentally friendly. It is suggested that consumers look for toys with less packaging and to consider what the toy is made of, such as wood or rubber. The significance of the Forest Stewardship Council logo is discussed. INSET: FIVE ECO-FRIENDLY GIFTS FOR CHRISTMAS.
