Abstract

The article presents a study on the use of antagonistic microorganisms to control postharvest diseases of fruits. It states that antagonistic microorganisms have been utilized as biological control agents for several postharvest diseases of fresh fruits. It discusses that to properly use this type of microorganism, it is essential to understand the action mechanisms involved in biocontrol activities that would allow a more secure development of the application processes and a base to choose new and efficient strains.
