Abstract
- The article reports that production in U.S. industries posted an increase in October 2008 after a big dip caused by hurricanes and labor unrest. Allegedly, weak industrial production still persists. According to the Federal Reserve, October 2008 registered an increase of 1.3% over September 2008 performance. The drop of 3.7% in September 2008 was noted to be the largest since the 5% in February 1946. Economist Abiel Reinhart at J. P. Morgan Chase said that the rate of decline in the industrial sector is intensifying as well as the overall U.S. economy.
