Abstract

The article reports that U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is set to offer a $100 billion economic stimulus bill, which will offer loans to the Big Three automakers and help provide unemployment benefits. Reid's package includes a House-passed $6 billion extension of unemployment benefits and $25 billion in auto industry aid, as well as funding for infrastructure, food stamps and aid to states to prevent them from being forced to cut services and raise taxes.
