Abstract

The article offers commentary on the U.S. bailout plan, stating that the plan didn't fail because of U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson's actions, but because it wasn't a good plan. The author emphasizes that the bank assets are bad, and the U.S. financial system is broken. The author suggests that U.S. President-elect Barack Obama declare a bank holiday similar to U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt's in 1933, and nationalize the banking system.
