Abstract

The article presents information on the deployment of the U.S. Marine Corps in Iraq. For Iraq-bound units, that training cycle is held in a one-month workup at the Marine Air Ground Combat Center (MCAGCC) at Twentynine Palms, California. It is stated that during the training, deploying units endure the rigors of a harsh desert environment while undertaking simultaneous, live-fire combined arms exercises. The combat center also trains units for support roles and non-kinetic missions.
