Abstract
- The article discusses the highlights of the talks between Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) and International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) officials in Spokane, Washington concerning the striking machinists. Boeing was focused on its proposal for an 11% pay increase, while the union zeroed in on the company's outsourcing policy. BCA's Douglas Kight explained that Boeing needs to respond to changing market conditions by allocating work among its own employees and suppliers.
