Application of Library Management Software in Aligarh Muslim University.

The article describes a library management software project that has been implemented at the Maulana Azad Library (MAL) of the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) in Aligarh, India. The author briefly notes the background and importance of the university's MAL library, its initial installation of computers and the purchase of LibSys library management software. He describes the process by which records for its collection of English and non-English resources were entered into the LibSys software, its use for the acquisition section of the library, and the progress made with the library's circulation system. Although this is only the first phase of the project, the author is confident that the library is headed in the right direction.
