Winds of change.

Information about the International Polar Year (IPY) held in March 2008 in London, England is presented. The meeting attended by various societies in Europe discussed the challenges of climate change. The IPY's existence is due to the interest in science and the studies were conducted in the coldest regions of the world. IPY was organized through the International Council for Science (ICSU) and the World Meteorological Organisation (WMD) and involved several projects by scientists.
