Abstract
- The article comments on how to assess the complexity of qualitative research. According to the author, researchers operate under the paradigms of constructivism and interpretivism when conducting a qualitative study. She explains two problems that exist with the critical appraisal criteria for assessing complexity in qualitative studies. She stresses that qualitative researchers and reviewers should be selective in adhering to criteria that fit with their tradition of inquiry and philosophy.
