Abstract

The article reports on the impact of the attendance of U.S. presidential candidates Barack Obama and John McCain on the White House discussions regarding the plan to bailout mortgage-backed assets for $700 billion. It had been observed that their presence had turned the summit into a bickering match. Republican legislators had introduced a different proposal and were irked that the Democrats had allowed Obama to speak for them.
