Abstract: The article talks about health economics with reference to topics discussed at the 35th Annual National Conference of India Association of Preventive and Social Medicine (IAPSM) in Pondicherry in January 2008. It tackles the areas in public health and preventive medicine which have not yet been explored. It notes the importance of parallel development in medical specialty training. It emphasizes the need to raise awareness about health economics in medical education curriculum.
