Abstract

The article presents the discussion by Australia's Centre for the Mind director Allan Snyder on savant syndrome. During the meeting of the Royal Society, Snyder cites one study which reveals that all people are displaying extraordinary skills associated with savant syndrome. He explains that autistic savants often display uncommon abilities in art, music, calendar calculating, mathematics or spatial areas. He adds that they tend to see a more literal, less filtered view of the world.
