Abstract: The article examines the utility of a virtual reality system in the visualization of three-dimensional (3D) ultrasound images of fetal ambiguous genitalia. A better impression of genital ambiguity can be established by evaluating the genitals in the BARCO I-Space virtual reality system. The system projects stereoscopic images that allow viewers to see a 3D hologram of the data being visualized. It can be applied in cases where depth perception improves visualization of anatomical structures.
