Abstract

The article discusses research on the prevalence of colorectal adenomas in younger adults and adults aged 50 years and older. It references a study published in a 2008 issue of "Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology." An epidemiologic necropsy in serial autopsy patients to assess the prevalence of colorectal adenomas in young adults compared with older adults was conducted. The study found an increase in the prevalence of adenomas from 10.1 to 12.06 per 100 autopsies in the sixth and ninth decades of life in older adults.
