Abstract
- The article examines the contention that speculation drives up the price of oil. It reports that the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission investigated this possibility and found it to be without merit. An investigation ordered by senator Byron Dorgan concluded otherwise based on an analysis of traffic on Google, the Internet search engine.
