Abstract
- The article presents learning activities in support of the Social Education's goal of enabling students to participate effectively in society. It explains how the "Social Education: A Statement for Victorian Schools" provides a guide to the development of activities for the classroom. It mentions that the activities illustrate aspects of the two themes of the Statement--achieving a just world, and achieving an ecologically sustainable society. The first theme focuses on the protest over Tibetan independence surrounding the Olympic Torch Relay.
