School Lunches and the Politics of Fear.

This paper examines the development of the school lunch programs in the UK and the UK at two crucial moments: the advent of the programs and the reforms pushed in the last ten to fifteen years to force the school lunches to be healthier. I argue that the legitimating framework of both moments, the first a frame of security, the second a frame of public health, legitimates further and further governmental intervention into the lives of its people by operating within an all encompassing politics of fear. ..PAT.-Unpublished Manuscript [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
