Abstract

Mass media is an integral part of modern warfare. It is not only the fight on the battlefield and the outcome that is significant, but what happens on the home front and civilian populations around the world. Coverage of a war can make or break a public's will to continue the fight. This is recognised by all sides involved in modern warfare, who target livingrooms around the world in order to try and influence the outcome, which is moved more by the shift of public sentiment rather than as the result of the success or otherwise on the battlefield. This makes it increasingly difficult to draw the lines between the role of journalist and combatant. ..PAT.-Unpublished Manuscript [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
