Abstract: The article discusses the results of a study which examined the association of tryptophan hydroxylase 1 (TPH1) gene and arylalkylamine N-acetyltransferase polymorphisms with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) in Han Chinese patients. It was found that TPH1 polymorphisms were associated with AIS but not with gender and Cobb angle in AIS patients.
