Abstract
- The article presents briefs reporting historic events that took place during the month of October. The October 1938 panic caused by the radio broadcast of "War of the Worlds" by H. G. Wells is described. The October 1908 introduction of the Ford Model T automobile is reported. Also described is the first performance at the Metropolitan Opera in New York City in October 1883.
