Abstract

Abstract: Critical current density (J C) of REBa2Cu3O7− δ (REBCO) films deteriorates in a magnetic field. One of the methods to solve the J C deterioration is to introduce artificial pinning centers (APCs) such as nanorods into the REBCO films. When many nanorods with a small diameter grew up than less rods with large diameter in REBCO films, the nanorod are considered to act as APCs. Therefore, we focused on controlling the rod diameter in order to realize the higher number density of nanorods in REBCO films. BaNb2O6 (BNO) was introduced in ErBCO films. In order to decrease the diameter of nanorods, we think it is necessary to control migration length of Nb atoms at the film surface of the ErBCO. As a result, it was observed in TEM image that diameter of nanorods was changed by varying substrate temperature and decreased with decreasing the substrate temperature. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
