Abstract

The article offers information about cloud transitions with emphasis on aerosols. It notes that aerosols can produce changes in size, number, and size distribution of cloud drops, which affect how clouds change the fluxes and distributions of energy and water. The microphysical and the radiative are two major pathways by which aerosols act on clouds, the net result can either be cooling or warming. To illutrate, an image of a cloud is presented. An overview of the information given by Koren and other on the distribution of energy within the atmosphere is provided.
