Abstract

The article features the Vergenoeg fluorite mine located in the Gauteng Province in South Africa. The mine is one of the biggest operating fluorite mines in the world. The mine produces 3.4% of the total annual world fluorspar and its two main products are acid-grade fluorspar and metallurgical fluorspar. It states that access to the mine is prohibited unless prior approval has been granted by the mine management.
