Heart Rate Dynamics as a Marker of Vulnerability to Atrial Fibrillation.

The article discusses the common factors which lead to vulnerability to atrial fibrillation (AF). The role of autonomic nervous system in predicting the onset of AF is also discussed. Heart rate behavior was analyzed in relation to onset of AF. It is stated that preoperative analysis of fractal heart rate behavior and entropy can predict the AF occurrence after cardiac surgery.
