Abstract
- The article discusses Emmanuel Kant's general definition of the work of art wherein he introduced a distinction between two kinds of beauty, the free beauty and adherent beauty. It mentions Kant's argument that the judgments of taste about beauty are entirely independent from the concept of perfection, to which the author agreed for free beauty but not for adherent beauty. It also offers the author's explanation on the questions that arise on Kant's aesthetic theory through explicit discussion of free and adherent beauty, beauty and perfection, fine art and genius, and the possibility of judgments of free beauty about works of fine art.
