Abstract

The article discusses the two survey results on American consumer sentiments and inflation expectations of households conducted monthly by the University of Michigan Survey Research Center and the quarterly Survey of Professional Forecasters (SPF) by the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. It tells that both surveys have indicated varied data for the anticipated inflation against the actual inflation realized over the years due to varied and volatile consumer views.
