What Is the Relationship Between Background Characteristics and the Dyadic Strain Experienced by Individuals With Dementia?

The article examines how the background characteristics of individuals with dementia (IWD) are related to the dyadic relationship of the caregiver and IWD. It was found that the background characteristics of IWD, such as marital status, living arrangement, and education level, influence the relationship that such individuals have with their caregiver. The relationship that they have with their caregiver may be compromised as a result of their changing cognitive and functional abilities.
