Abstract

This article focuses on excavation efforts at North Lodge, Barnwell in Northamptonshire, England which is funded by the Royal Archaeological Institute in 1986. It removed the limestone surface interpreted as a paved track leading north from the eastern end of the building to expose earlier gullies and beam slots. A rectangular gully was found in area D which has indications of being a robber trench. There were two dicthes at the southern end of the area. A series of post-holes, a shallow ditch and the remains of an insubstantial wall which seemed to encompass enclosure adjacent to the building were discovered in area e.
