Abstract

The article reports on the development of community gardening organizations in urban areas. Several benefits of community gardening are described, including building community, reducing crime, and encouraging environmental responsibility. Challenges are also mentioned, including the discovery of sufficient green space, accessibility for elderly and disabled community members, and ensuring partnership between parks and recreation leadership and neighborhood residents.
