Abstract

Abstract: The electrochemical performance of Ni/Al-CO3 hydrotalcite supported on porous nickel electrode in hexacyanoferrate(III) media was investigated. The structure and morphology of Ni/Al hydrotalcite were characterized by XRD, FT-IR, SEM and TEM. The XRD and FT-IR results indicated that the intercalation of hexacyanoferrate into Ni/Al hydrotalcite was caused by potential scan. In addition, the conductive mechanism was studied by voltammetric methods. The result demonstrated that the [Fe(CN)6]3− anion significantly affected the electrochemical behavior of the electrode and the electrode reaction was controlled by the diffusion of [Fe(CN)6]3−. The electrochemical impedance spectra of Ni/Al-CO3 hydrotalcite electrodes were recorded at different potentials in order to study the electronic and ionic conduction, both inside and on the surface of the material.
