- Reevaluates the generic and family relationships within the Portunoidea using additional fossil portunoids of southern Argentina and west coast of North America. Suggestion for the derivation of Geryonidae from portunid progenitor Proterocarcinus; Implication for amphitropical distribution of the genus; List of the species combinations.
