Abstract: The author reflects on Africa's cultural and historical background specifically Ghana's 50th independence which coincides with the second issue of the International Journal of African Studies (IJAS). The author provides an overview of Ghana's political and historical developments together with Africa and United States of America's relations in history. The author stated that the IJAS is affiliated with Routledge Taylor & Francis for the second publication.
