Abstract

International Organizations hold a notable position in the international society. The most advanced model of an organization of these characteristics and of an integrationist law are, undoubtedly, the EU and the European Community Law. This kind of International Organizations and Laws are analyzed in this work, the first part of which examines the existing tension between sovereignty and integration, focusing on the evolution extending from some State constitutions to the EU "Constitution". In the second part of the work, the differences and similarities of two close though completely different notions are examined: sovereignty and supranationality. As to this, we do not support the use of the concept of supranationality to define such International Organizations, since the juridical-political phenomenon does not occur there. However, an integration base on the voluntary attribution of the Member States in the exercise of their sovereignty (but not of sovereignty itself) to those IO does occur. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
