Abstract: The article reports on the agreement among U.S. motion picture studios to place antismoking public-service announcements on all digital video disc (DVD) releases of new, youth-oriented films featuring tobacco use. The studios that consented to the agreement which will run until the end of 2009 include Sony Pictures, Universal Studios and Warner Bros. It mentions that the group Entertainment Industry Foundation has intervened for in the deal as well as is paying for the costs for the talent linked to the advertisements.
