Abstract
- The article reveals the new hospital design adopted by Dublin Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Entering the hospital's atrium, patients can see the live ficus trees and a waterfall. They will also notice natural light streaming into the building, polished blond wood, walls painted in soothing earth colors and decorative bamboo accents. The hospital is nearly paper-free and uses digital medical records. Doctors and nurses carry laptop computers that keep them informed of a patient's vital signs, lab results and physicians' orders.
