Abstract
- The technical possibilities of an engine system (combustion and exhaust aftertreatment) which made good use of the properties of FTD fuel (zero sulfur, zero aroma and a high cetane number) were examined. Cleaner diesel operation with considerably lower exhaust emissions than current levels was achieved by making a small change to the combustion and exhaust aftertreatment system. For the research, a commercial 2L class small diesel engine was used, and this experimental mechanism was described in detail. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
